The construction of the spectacular project in Akka, Israel, designed by the architect Hossein Amanat, continues after the press conference held on December 16th.
It's an innovative architectural structure, enhanced by the use of 16 gigantic petals made of Carrara White marble, adding to its beauty.
The Mausoleum, given its location, has been erected on a slightly inclined embankment, lifting the central structure several meters to account for the rising sea level.
The magnificent construction has been designed to permanently house the sacred remains of 'Abdu'l-Bahá, the founder of the Bahá'í Faith
The construction commenced in January 2020 with a thorough examination of the composition and drainage system of the site's soil. Subsequently, it was covered with a compacted stone platform measuring 170 meters in diameter and 50 centimeters in thickness.
Reinforced concrete pylons were then cast to a depth of up to 15 meters, serving as the foundations for the central structure, providing stability to the landscape architecture and the gardens on both sides of the plaza
The underground portion of the structure, lying beneath the central plaza, then began to take shape with the construction of walls and columns.
Simultaneously, work continued on the lower level of the central structure and the foundation for each of the two embankments that enclose the central plaza.
After placing the pre-existing hollow blocks, reinforcement bars were installed for the concrete casting, completing the walls of the east and west plazas.
After completing the construction of the plaza walls, the assembly of the intricate truss framework above the central plaza followed. This truss connects the main building to the surrounding embankments.
Subsequently, the installation of numerous custom-made prefabricated expanded polystyrene blocks was planned. These blocks form the formwork for the truss.
The construction of the "Shrine of Abdu'l-Bahá" also involved several Italian companies that represent excellence in the processing of marble materials worldwide, confirming the quality of work from our companies and the preference for Italian craftsmanship.
